Understanding Canada’s Complicity in the Genocide of Palestinians.
Saturday March 1, 2025 - 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Kelowna Unitarian Church - 1310 Bertram Street , Kelowna

Join us for a presentation by Muhannad Ayyash and Jeremy Wildeman co-editors of Canada As a Settler Colony On The Question Of Palestine. Their book was the winner of the 2024 Canadian Studies Network prize for Best Edited Collection in Canadian Studies. Their talk will examine the historical and political reasons for Canada's complicity in the fifteen-month Israeli genocidal assault against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. We explore how Canadian settler colonialism informs and shapes Canada's policies in regards to Israel and Palestine. Their presentation will be followed by a time for questions. Copies of their book will be for sale at the event for approximately $47.00. Payment can be by cash, cheque or e-transfer. Donations at the door will be accepted for United Nations Relief and Workers Agency (UNRWA): Gaza Emergency Fund. Registration is not mandatory but will help us plan for seating.
Hosted by Amnesty International Okanagan, Central Okanagan United Church, CJPME:Okanagan, and Kelowna Unitarians.
